About the Speaker
- Tom Nolte ventured to Grass Lake in 1986 as a project manager for Adams Building Contractors and soon became an asset for the Village of Grass Lake as an influential force for improvement. The background in construction found him uniquely suited as a member of the Village Planning Commission to start his career in local government. Nolte served two terms on the Village Council, and one term as Village President initially influential in the creation of the Downtown Development Authority in Grass Lake.
  
  Following that, Nolte served two terms as the Village Clerk before being appointed in 2000 as the finance manager for the Village of Grass Lake. During that time, his expertise in capturing grant funding led to the leverage of more than $1,350,000 in grants for the Village into $4,500,000 in infrastructure benefit from the development of a sewer system, improvements to the water system, and a complete re-construction of Michigan Avenue through the Village of Grass Lake. Ultimately, Nolte was appointed the Village Manager for the Village of Grass Lake and continues to be a force for improvement and advancement for his community. That includes serving as the facilities manager at the Lost Railway Museum.

The Lost Railway Museum

The Museum is now open for regular hours on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The electric Interurban railway system is the primary mode of public transportation. More than six railways intersected Jackson County and delivered visitors to and from Ann Arbor, Jackson, Battle Creek, and Lansing. Now, get ready to see what that time was like at the Lost Railway Museum.
