Rotary Club of Jackson is a service club located in Jackson, Michigan. We meet weekly to listen to speakers and enjoy fellowship with other club members and guests.

As well as supporting the goals of Rotary International, our club donates money and time to important initiatives and causes in the greater Jackson community.

disAbility Connections

In 1916, our club founded the organization that would later become disAbility Connections. The mission of disAbility Connections is “to advance the independence, productivity and full inclusion of children and adults with disabilities into our communities of Jackson, Hillsdale and Lenawee Counties.” Rotary Club of Jackson continues to work closely with disAbility Connections and support its projects. Ramp Building

Each year, Rotary Club of Jackson builds ramps for local individuals in need. Club members plan the projects, purchase supplies, recruit volunteers and provide the labor for several of these ramp projects each year.

Rotary Club of Jackson Scholarship

An endowment, started with a $30,000 donation from Rotary Club of Jackson, funds an annual $1,000 scholarship. The scholarship is awarded each year to a deserving high school senior in a Jackson County high school who plans to attend Jackson College or Spring Arbor University.

Rotary Foundation of Jackson County

Along with Jackson Breakfast Rotary, we support the Rotary Foundation of Jackson County and its many deserving grant projects.

Junior Achievement

Club members participate in JA programs such as Global Marketplace, which introduces middle school students to the global marketplace and the ways in which countries buy and sell from each other. During the program, volunteer teachers help students gain an understanding of producers and consumers in the interconnected global market and analyze the similarities and differences among countries and the effects of free enterprise.

Energizing Education

Rotary Club of Jackson supports the efforts of Energizing Education. A collective approach to promoting literacy, Energizing Education was created to ensure that all students in Jackson County, Michigan, read at or above grade level by the end of third grade.

Other Support

Each year, Rotary Club of Jackson holds events such as a Rotary Halloween Party for local children, a Christmas party for students with disabilities. Additionally, the club currently participates or has participated in the following: serving lunch at the Interfaith Shelter, a local homeless shelter; ringing bells for the Salvation Army; hosting Rotary International youth exchange students; and funding free Fridays entry for local children at a community splash pad.
